Viña Oropéndola 2021
100% Verdejo
VIÑA OROPÈNDOLA: It is our only white wine from Rueda and comes from a selection of vineyards of the Verdejo variety aged between 40 and 60 years. The vineyards are located on alluvial and stony terraced soils close to the banks of the Duero River. This wine has been made with a cold maceration with its skins, soft pressing and racking in tank. It has also been aged on its fine lees for between 3/4 months. It is a very aromatic, fruity and primary wine, with soft mineral, herbaceous and white fruit notes. In the mouth it has volume and a perfect acidity that takes a very refreshing and fruity step until reaching an intense aftertaste with a powerful and aromatic aftertaste. Although young white wines are usually consumed in the year following their harvest, we consider that this wine has an improvement potential of 2-3 years in the bottle. It is an excellent exponent of Verdejo de Rueda, combining classic and modern styles.
This brand has been on the market for 15 years and its consumption is divided between 80% for the national market and 20% for the international market. The average production is 60,000 bottles.
